My dell inspiron laptop screen is completely black...and i cant see with a flashlight

My laptop screen used to cut on every so often after i turn on...like one in 12 times i would cut it on the lcd would work fine...THEN ONE DAY IT JUST STOPPED TURNING ON COMPLETELY...but i can still here the windows sounds when i turn it on...?i need help plz!!!!

Try it with an external monitor. If it works there may be you need to replace the LCD assembly.

If it does not work with an external monitor, it may be a problem with the motherboard.

I suggest you bring it to a repair shop for a much deeper analysis.
