I have dell 6400 inspiron and it's in vegie state right now. there some problem with laptop so decided to reformat the computer. The backup recovery petition didn't work so decided to do complete reformat from vista dvd. Everything went good and i was in dektop and installing window updates sudeenly the blue screen came up and the computer restarted and went back to desktop but again after five minutes blue screnn. So i thought mayble while doing reformat there's some file didn't copy right. Computer does not even go to dell logo. So i have no warrenty...warrenty expire 3 months ago. I have done 5 to 10 reformats before on different computers with xp. This is the first time i am doing reformat with vista and i am in nowhere land so please help.

and welcome to the Forum

I'd run the Dell Diagnostics on that laptop . . if you don't have a diagnostic disc, you can download the program from the Dell support site
