Compaq C774TU Formatting Troubles

hi everyone i just brought this laptop and it came installed with vista basic. but i wanted to format it and put xp back on

i used partition magic and began and the hard drive has two partitions

now the pc reset and it came up with error

everytime i boot up into xp setup it says no drive found and if i try install it comes up with a bright blue screen and errors

please help

Check your BIOS settings for any parameter involving SATA drives. Make necessary changes to allow you to install on a SATA drive.

I think you need SATA drivers. Check with Compaq website for your model. Or you can try this one: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/g...reg_R1002_USEN

You may need nLite to slipstream this with your XP installation files.

ill try the hp driver. witch does make sense. because when i install xp . its not decting the harddrive. but a partiction software does dectect it
