My CD Drive of my ASUS Laptop, suddenly starts to work, without pressing any button. Although this CD drive acts independently from the main switch, the start of the CD drive prevents that I can swtich on the laptop.
A way to stop the CD drive to start is to remove the battery and disconnect the electricity supply. Another way is to press the main on/off switch of the laptop for four seconds. Then the laptop is dead and when the laptop has electrical supply, after 15 min to 4 h the CD starts again. Can anyone help ? |

Re: CD Drive
Do you mean the CD drive starts/initializes even when the laptop is OFF but AC adapter is plugged or a charged battery is attached?

Re: CD Drive
Spooky...
![]() When the CD drive initializes (laptop is OFF), do you see any LEDs light up? Also does it do this even when laptop is closed (top lid is closed)?
