BSOD on toshiba Equium
Hi all.. i guess this is probably too vague, but im receiving a bsod everytime i boot up my sisters laptop. error 0x0000000ED or something. when try to boot in safe mode, it scans the .sys files and then another bsod. is there a way to get around this at all? or does it sound like the HD is totally banjaxed?

Hi rory,
Definitely looks like hard drive related. If possible make a backup of all your important files. First run HDD diagnostic to test your drive. Use Hitachi Drive Fitness Test. D/load the utility here: http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/suppor...2_v414_b00.iso Burn the ISO image to CD and boot from that CD. Just follow the instructions on the Menu to test the drive. After doing the test, run CHKDSK /R in Recovery Console when you boot with your XP install CD.
