I'm in need of advise and suggestion here, anyone? =)

First thing first, i've read the sticky post on questions you need to ask if u are looking for help on choosing a new laptop. But since i have narrowed my choice down onto these two models, i guess i can just skip most of it, ryt? =)

Alright, back to business. This is the link to the website showing comparison of the two models: HERE

I'm a bit struggling in choosing which one of these two.

Anyway, let's start answering some of the questions.

1. Which country im in?
I live in Brunei but am going to leave the country for UK at the end of september to further my study. These two models are shown in the Sony Vaio Singapore website but i can't find them in Sony Vaio UK Website. Will there be a problem if i need a support with my laptop (well, in case the laptop break down?).

2. Which OS?
This one, i'm a bit struggling on which one I'm in favour in. The SR13 comes with Vista Business with XP Professional Disc included but SR12 comes only with Vista Home Premium. I'm a bit in favour of HomePremium because of its Media contents which are not available in Business, ryt? Does a Vista Business needed for a student?

Also, I've read somewhere during my research that it is possible to upgrade from Vista Business / Home Premium to Ultimate ryt? Correct me if im wrong but Ultimate is like the combination of both right? If im gonna upgrade it, how much will it cost me? (i tried googling it once before but can't seem to find a page whcih mentions about the price)

3. My laptop usage.
I'm gonna take a course in Computing next year and so, I think a laptop capable of programming is a must. Which do you think is better?

4. Gaming - Graphic Card?
I'm a fan of gaming! But not a hardcore gamer i guess. I don't play a lot of PC Game. I guess that if i have a new laptop, at least The Sims 2 and Fifa Manager 2008 (probably the going-to-be-release 2009) is a must. So, which of the two laptop can play both of these two games very well? They have the ATi or the Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator. Which of them is better?

5. HardDisk.
This one is not a problem.

6. Security?
There is a row about the security shown in the speciifcation and both are not available at SR12 version. Will that make a big difference?

7. Utilities?
If you see the spec at the utilities, there are two elements unavailable and on the them is Protector Suite. What is this Suite all about? Is it that important?

8. Expansion?
Over times, i may consider increasing the RAM, storage size, processor or maybe even upgrading the graphic card. Both two laptops can be upgraded right?

Hmm...i guess thats all of the concerns that I have at this moment. I will add more if i remember something later.

I hope that you can help me deciding which one is better. If you don't have the time to answer each of my questions, its okay. You can just tell me in short, whch one is better. But i really hope that at least one of you guys can help me in full details. Thanks =) I really appreciate your advices.

Hi Hazmi,

So sorry for quite a late reply. As you know we are all volunteers here and in as much as we want to reply (even if I sometimes do not have a clue on how to solve the issue) and help immediately, most often our personal and professional life 'interferes'... you know what I mean.

If I were to choose and money is not an issue.. I will get this one VGN-SR13GN/B. Well I hope that helps.

For the support question.. ask Sony SGP. They will tell you up front if you are covered in UK.
