fan problems
6 months ago i bought a Gateway® ML6732 notebook. the fan was fine for a couple of months. but one day i turned it on and the fan was really loud and the notebook was vibrating. after an hour it starts overheating. its been like this ever since. how can i fix this?

If it's 6 months old it should still be under warranty, I would call Gateway.
If it's not you could try blowing it out with a can of compressed air through the cooling fan vents to see if that helps, but I suspect it has a failed fan which would require disassembly and a replacement fan. |

I have not tried it yet but looking at the document (Removing the old Keyboard topic), you can access the fan, remove it and replace it with a new one. Best way is to get the part number from the part itself and search the part in online stores for laptop parts. On the second thought, since this is 6months old may be you can still return it and have it repaired or replaced under warranty.
