asus notebook audio whining?
Note: Wasn't sure where to post this. Could potentially fit three different forums.
I recently purchased an Asus M50vm-X1. When I plug in headphones I hear a very high pitched whining. I hear this even when I turn on my notebook, before the hardrive is even booted to. This leads me to believe it is not a driver, software, operating system, etc. problem. The problem exists only with headphones, not with speakers. I have the most up to date of everything, including bios. I am running Vista Ultimate x64. I have tried many different pairs of headphones. I have tried unplugging the laptop and running off battery, running in different power modes, it does not matter. I have also tried every conceivable option in the audio settings to no avail. Lowering volume, changing bits/hertz/etc. - nothing effects the whining noise. Any ideas? :( |
