Re: please help me,my hp laptop is not booting
Change boot order in BIOS settings and set it to boot from CD/DVD drive first. Also try running your HDD maker's diagnostic tool to test your HDD as it surely looks like an HDD failure.

Re: please help me,my hp laptop is not booting
thanks for your reply brother,
yes, i also changed boot order in BIOS setting to boot from cd/dvd drive,so the xp setup will begin to install and then at last it will say "hardware is not found",so i also tried running the hdd maker's diagnostic tool test,it shows some failure report, but there is no chance of hdd failure ,because this happend only when i made to boot it in safe mode by changing the setting by using msconfig>bootini>safe mode After rebooting laptop shows 2 options, f10 and f1 .if we leave that without do any thing it will show the windows xp logo and then suddenly one blue screen will occur and then suddenly disappear, then one black screen with option showing safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command promt ,last know good configuration ,ext But we couldn't able to enter into any of that option ,if we enter into any of that it will come from the beginning ...thanks in advance . if you what to give the detail solution, you can mail me in "beril.joel@gmail.com" and my yohoomessenger id is "funkygarzon@yahoo.co.in" |

Re: please help me,my hp laptop is not booting
So you get errors after HDD diags? That could probably be the reason why you get the blue screen. Try CHKDSK /R in Recovery Console using your XP install CD. I hope that would help. You can try to repair Windows or do a fresh install but personally I think you need a new hard drive.

Re: please help me,my hp laptop is not booting
To do CHKDSK in Recovery Console, you need to boot with your XP install CD. Choose R for Recovery Console. It will scan for a previous installation in your HDD. If it finds one, it will give you a prompt. Details in Method 2 of this page:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811150 Btw, are you doing a downgrade from Vista to XP? If so, you could be using SATA drives and you may need drivers in XP so you HDD can be recognized.
