I got a PM from someone asking for my help and I figured i would repost it so you guys can help me crack the problem. thanks!

Haii mii name is rikki, i am new to this website and im not really sure how this works and im not really sure where im suppose to write this but i was just wondering if u could help me figure out what is wrong with mii computer or give me the name of some that can......i apologise in advance if this makes no sense to u but im not really sure how to explain it........ about 7 months ago i brought a acer aspire 4920 notebook and about 5 months after first getting it a couple of things started happing it started with mii computer just shut itself down one night and mii cousin took a look at it and did something and it started working again but after that night i would be in the middle of doing something on mii computer and the screen would go completely blank but if i either left it for a certain amount of time or restarted it......it would be fine.........but as time went on the white screen be came more frequent.....i then went away for a week and when i came back and turned mii computer on it just said launch setup reapir (recommended) or start windows normally so i ra the test but it just said that it could not repair it automatically and it also says something like i had attached a device to teh computer and to remove it but there is nothing to remove.....and when i checked the results it didnt tell me the root cause or ne thing.......but if i clicked on start windows normally it would just restart its self and bring me back to the same screen........if this doesnt make sense of u need more details just let me know i really hope u can hope me..................please help!!! what else to do thank u for ur time i look forward to hearing from u soon

sounds like a bad system crash. i'm not too sure what to do. perhaps try resetting the cmos? maybe try the windows cd? what do you guys think?

i PM'd him back the link to this page, so hopefully he'll pop up soon and hopefully this will help anyone else with a similar problem once we figure it out.

with your computer off, there is usually a tiny little button on the motherboard next to a coin sized battery.

okaii so i found the coin battery but i couldnt find the button what does it look like how small is it
