Re: laptop shuts off randomly any help?
Observe your temps. Use NHC or SpeedFan or similar program. Also try cleaning the vents/heatsink. The cooling pad can only do so much if you have vents/heatsink that are blocked with dust or other materials.

Re: laptop shuts off randomly any help?
ok so i downloaded speed fan first and it was like normal: core: 78c , temp1: 74c, Hd0: 68c around average but when i downloaded NHC: it went down and normal is now: core: 57c, temp1: 56c, hd0: 52c...so that was pretty cool.

Re: laptop shuts off randomly any help?
They are not alarming but they are quite on the high side. Try playing the game as you said and observe if temps will rise.

Re: laptop shuts off randomly any help?
Hmmm how do I put this... these things fail (in time). Even the thermal paste between the CPU and heatsink dries up and cracks like dried mud.
May be it is time to open it up, give it a good clean and reapply thermal paste on the CPU. Btw some GPUs have heatsinks too, so you might consider reapplying thermal paste on them should this be your case.
