problem with a gateway laptop...
Hi
I have been having problems with my laptop, not sure of the model or anything like that (yes I am a bit ignorant) but the problem seems to relate to a symbol not lighing up just above the mouse, and am wondering what the symbol relates to. It is a cylinder, and when it doesn't light up (when turning my computer on) nothing much happens, if on the otherhand my laptop is on and working, but it gets jolted then the screen goes blank, and the cylinder symbol disappears and any other symbols that are on (such as capslock) stay there even if capslock is pressed. Any help would be greatfully recived. Cheers Fat Tim |

If you do not know the model of your laptop, turn it over and on the underside you will some labels there. just copy what you see in those labels or best if you can upload an image. The same is true for the keyboard or LED symbols. These symbols are really tricky. I cannot even describe them well myself. If you are in the same situation, just upload a picture or an image of the symbol that you are pointing out. That would be easier for both of us. The cylinder symbol, I think means the hard drive. Assuming it is the hard drive, what is the problem? Does your computer start at all? I really apologize but I do not have much information to work on based on what your post. Elaborate more on what problems or errors you encounter so we will know exactly how to approach.
