Sony Vaio lcd screen issue
My older brother gave me his old Sony VAIO pcg-k27, its a decent laptop and better than my desktop, only problem is i cant see the screen, its like the backlight is out but when it first loads i can see the vaio logo plain as day same with the bios screen, and if i go into bios setup i can see it perfectly to. but as soon as the win xp loading screen comes up fade to black, you can still see the screen but its like playing an old school gameboy, anybody have any idea what the problem is? please help me out.

Re: Sony Vaio lcd screen issue
First thing I would do would make sure the backlight is up all the way. You will have to search the keyboard for the keys. Its usually the FN key and a symbol that looks like the sun with an arrow pointing up.

Re: Sony Vaio lcd screen issue
Is there any difference about the brightness when on battery as opposed to power cable?

Re: Sony Vaio lcd screen issue
I would reinstall the video driver, and also peruse power settings to see if anything is set wrong.
