every now and then my touch pad will click itself a number of times. i can leave the mouse still and it will begin to click itself. this happen intermitantly and not all the time. i know it is the touchpad as when i disable it (FN+F7) it stops. I have a 1 month old Acer Aspire 5520 with home premium.

Re: My touch pad clicks itself
I'm also having this problem, often in the middle of typing something my mouse will click somewhere and either move the cursor to somewhere else in a text field or make the page scroll down. My specs are the same as above.

Re: My touch pad clicks itself
First try to update the drivers (esp. for touchpad/mouse) from ACER website. If that dont work, then try uninstalling all touchpad drivers in Device Manager and any touchpad related programs in ADD/REMOVE. Reboot and let Windows recognize it and use default drivers.

For anyone else with this problem, a USB mouse does not fix the problem; the difficulty lies in the drivers. Also, be very cautious when getting drivers from the ACER website, as it can be hard to navigate the first few times and mistakes can easily be made. |

in as much as I want to add something to that... I think it is best for me to shut up (or I will be going against the rules) ![]()
