Another DELL on the frits

I have the notorious Dell 5150 which of course is not working. Here is my deal:

It's out of warranty
It has already been fixed by Dell once

It won't turn on
When I push the power button with the battery in the light in the front of laptop on the right flashes amber (the other two do nothing)
When I take the battery out the first and third lights flash green every 6-7 seconds.

Before it went it would get very hot when I had it on my lap so I bought a stand to put it on to let air circulate. I have taken it apart to see if the power port was loose and it is not.

Anyone else have this exact problem? Any solutions?

I know it's a piece of crap but can't afford to get a new computer right now and I still need to get all my stuff off of it.

Any help greatly appreciated!!!

Re: Another DELL on the frits

Surely looks like your battery is out of charge. Check the output of your AC adapter if it is giving the correct voltage. Also try your AC adapter and battery on a similar laptop just to check if these are still any good. If they tested good, it could be your motherboard.
