[SOLVED] how to change the hard disk in Maxdata ECO 4000 A

Hi outside world.

Headline says it all. Found the drive, but could not find a way to get it out, fits in just so. Do I have to remove the whole back of the laptop?

Max.

Based on the user manual
http://www.maxdata.co.uk/services/fm...olderId=113237
You should remove the cover on the underside. May be it has something that you can use/hold on to pull out the drive.

notice on the right side of the hard drive (see image), there is something that looks like aluminum foil. is that part of the hard drive? can you hold on to it and may be give it a pull or a tug?

Re: how to change the hard disk in Maxdata ECO 4000 A

way easier, just lifted the other end und pulled it out. Put it back in, still working, as you can see ,-)
Ok, next time I have to re install there will be a new HDD, finally.

Re: how to change the hard disk in Maxdata ECO 4000 A

got a kitchen knife out.
Problem was, I am normally doing PCs, proper towers, and you just see, whats going on. Expected screws or clips or something, did not expect, that its held in place by just a plastic lid and a M2 screw.

Re: how to change the hard disk in Maxdata ECO 4000 A

oh the 'kitchen knife' method always works... in some laptops there is a blue colored plastic on one end of the HDD caddy that you can hold to pull out the drive.

thanks for sharing the good news that you got this sorted.
