laptop keeps shutting down

This happens to me on average of once or twice every day. It's VERY Annoying. It's hard to record movies and things when my computer keeps shutting itself down.

EDIT: My laptop has Vista Home Premium and i've never had a problem with it once. I'm guessing it's something wrong with the code or w/e in Vista Ultimate. Then again I'm still a novice at this kinda junk.

make sure the air vents a re clear of dust
run
chkdsk /r
on the hard drive
