Keys and Mouse sometimes locks after Windows login

Hi.

I have a problem with an Aspire 5003WLMi.
A search in this forum didn't match my problem.
I'm running Windows XP Home edition.
My computer works okay until getting a bit into the windows startup.
Then the keypad and the touch pad stops working.
At first I was suspecting a virus or something similar.
But virus scans using various scaners gave nothing.
It appears to me soething is consuming all the capacity of the processor.
I have reinstalled the Laptop using the backup CD's.
But he problem i still there.
I have noticed that the battery seems to be on it's last leg.
Could there be a connection between these problems?
MobileMeter shows 0 mw loading, capacity 3% on battery.

BR,

You said your reinstalled, was that a fresh install of XP?

How about trying a linux live CD or an XP/BartPE? Test your keyboard and Mouse in these environments if they behave the same. if not then it could be your XP home installation. if they do it could be hardware.

Re: Keys and Mouse sometimes locks after Windows login

I did a re-install of XP since I thought it might be a virus.
All partitions was removed before installation.
It didn't make any difference.
I had to restart three times to be able to run th installation.

I did try puppy linux, and it worked perfectly on every restart.
Keyboard and Mouse worked perfectly!
The only problem I had was the wireless network.
I had to re-initiate it after every start.
Maybe it's the wireless that's misbehaving.
Couldn't a hardware fault on wireless cause windows to stop, or run very slow?

Couldn't a hardware fault on wireless cause windows to stop, or run very slow? -- try it without the wireless installed. that way you will know if it is affecting your Windows.
