Question Does This Sound Like A Virus

I recently bought a refurbished gateway solo 9300 for my wife…..we’ve had problem after problem. The latest is she left it on, we left the house for a couple of hours and the screen was black with the power light on. Normaly we could just hit the power button and the screen would light up. Not this time. We tried to reboot and the screen remains black and the lights don’t come on. The battery wont hold a charge so the laptop is always plugged in when we use it…..I also tried to open the CDR and it wont open. It seems that the computer isn’t getting any power. However the power light is the only light that does come on when we try to turn on the computer. Also it does tick a little when we try to turn it on …the sound a computer makes sometimes when it is thinking. This is all the pertinent information I could think of.
Please answer with any suggestions… Thank you in advance for your time.

Re: Does This Sound Like A Virus

Hi,

remove the battery and ac adapter then press the power ON button for 30secs at least. attach the battery and plug the ac adapter back. power ON the laptop as normal. if this does not help, reseat your RAM and remove CMOS battery.
