last night i was still enjoying using my laptop like the usual almost the whole day running it. then just this morning, my laptop doesn't boot anymore, what's going on? well the laptop power indicator is on and has light in it, but it doesn't boot on the screen.. someone told me that i should try to use a desktop monitor and plug it in to my laptop and test if i can see any display, i did tried that but nothing happened, i still can't see any display. im curious about this, what is the problem then? if its not the lcd, and there should be a windows booting sound even though you can't see a display on start up right?, please guys, help me with this problem..

Re: lenovo Y410G laptop help
Try unplugging the power adapter, remove the battery, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, release the button install the battery, hook up the power adapter, see if it boots now.

Re: lenovo Y410G laptop help
Last thing I know to try is pressing FN and + to make sure the screen is at full brightness
But I think your going to have to take it in and have it checked out.

Re: lenovo Y410G laptop help
Hi,
Looks like video card/chip is gone. Try the external monitor again but follow these steps (just in case)... 1. power off laptop 2. plug in external monitor 3. power ON monitor 4. power ON laptop Btw when you say there is NOTHING on the screen, you mean nothing as in no blinking cursor, no POST, just blank dark LCD?

in the normal way, while the power adapter is connectid, its the battery indicator led that blinks while the laptop is booting.. and yeah it does blink, and it stops..and remains like a dead machine with a lighted power on indicator

Re: lenovo Y410G laptop help
Just a few more things to try...
1. Remove battery and unplug AC adapter. Remove the CMOS battery for like 10 to 15 min. Power ON. 2. Power ON without the hard drive. Obviously this will end in error. Let's hope it shows something on the screen.
