cant boot after wipe issue

Alrighty i have 2 amrel rocky rugged laptops
rocky 686 p3 648 -800 mghz?? im guessing the difference from the bios to windows has something to do with speed step technology?

anyway they both worked relatively fine and i decided (stupid me) to remove my non legit windows (that came with them) and install a legit windows xp home i proceeded to wipe the drives and then... windows wouldnt install, no matter if i boot off a floppy or anything! it just freezes up, and i keep geting bios errors if i try any version of linux,
they sent me the newest bios update but to be honest (i have no idea what to do with it? i cant boot to a floppy at all anymore at this point)
so any help in the right direction would be appreciated (or financial offers always accepted, ill just buy another mac that i KNOW will work)

it just freezes up, and i keep geting bios errors if i try any version of linux, -- what linux flavors have you tried (i.e. KNoppiX, PCLinuxOS, Ubuntu, etc.).

they sent me the newest bios update but to be honest (i have no idea what to do with it? i cant boot to a floppy at all anymore at this point) -- when you boot and a bootable floppy is in the drive, what message do you see? there must be an error, a message or anything on the screen. can you enter BIOS settings? if yes, change boot order making sure the floppy drive is on top of the list

so any help in the right direction would be appreciated (or financial offers always accepted, ill just buy another mac that i KNOW will work)

Re: cant boot after wipe issue

i origninally had umbuntu fiesty fawn whatever version that was on one of the laptops and xp pro on the other
i tried small dog linux as well as the same verison of umbuntu i also tried xp pro and home
it freezes during the part where it installs the os
i have since done a memory test on one of them and found the ram is bad, the other however im still at a loss for the other
the floppy drive says either not a valid boot disk or gives me some bios error which i will look up next time i can get the f#$(*# to boot (im only home 2 days a week)

the floppy drive says either not a valid boot disk or gives me some bios error which i will look up next time i can get the f#$(*# to boot (im only home 2 days a week) -- always try a new media or floppy disc. if it still fails, replace the drive. i hope you have the parts to spare if not, best if you can bring it to a repair shop.
