t42 battery light

Ibm t42 battery light started blinking. Charge ok Runs up from 94% to 100% with no problems. Tried another charge block and it is the same. Did not notice this blink before. Even when it is in slumber and plugged in.

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/si...id=HOME-LENOVO

go to that website, enter your model number (not the t42) it will be on a white sticker on the bottom of the unit, will be 4 numbers then 3 characters of numbers and letters. will look something like 6363-2AU. type that number minus the - adn press Go. click on user manuals, then click on the hardware maintenance manual. If the battery blinking is an error code it will tell you exaclty what it is in this manual.

Did not notice this blink before. Even when it is in slumber and plugged in.
As per the service manual here's what the Battery Status LED is saying:
  • Green: The battery is in use and has enough power. The ac adapter has charged the battery completely.
  • Blinking green: The battery is being charged, but still has enough power to operate. (At regular intervals, the indicator light turns off briefly.)
  • Orange: The battery is being charged, but the battery power is still low.
  • Blinking orange: The battery needs to be charged. When the indicator starts blinking orange, the computer beeps three times.

Grin Re: t42 battery light

Removed battery and the hard drive. I have no reason why. Reinstall and ran virus ck and deleated all cookies and files from IE. Defrag hard drive. Restarted: Blinked green hit 100 % and stayed green. Never blinked green while charging before. Well it is back to normal. Thank everyone for the help. J
