Inspiron 600m won't turn on
Hi,
A couple of days ago I was using my computer and turned it off with no problems, in the usual way. When I went to turn it on again, it simply would not do so. There are no indicator lights on or flashing. My battey has been dead for some time, so I have been running completely off the power supply, but the power supply still works correctly. I was able to try it out on another laptop because it is universal. I'm not sure what happened. I read some threads, on this forum and others, about a loose connection to the motherboard, but I am not savvy enough to know how to check that. If it is the motherboard, I'd hate to spend lots of money to fix it when I can buy a new basic computer for a reasonable price. Anyone have any ideas? Is it worth fixing? Thanks for your help!

Re: Inspiron 600m won't turn on
your laptop requires a specific voltage. measure the output of your adapter if it matches the laptop requirement.
if your adapter outputs enough voltage, check your DC jack connection (laptop side). may be it is loose or has lifted from the motherboard. best if you have a good spare battery. if it works with battery, that will rule out the motherboard. so i suggest you get hold of a working one, buy or borrow one as that would be a great help in this situation.
