Flickering Laptop Screen
I have a Toshiba P35-S6292 laptop with a 17" monitor. Today the monitor has begun flickering. It goes in blocks something to do with the refresh rate and it is worse on white than on colors. Is this a software or hardware problem? What can be done to correct the problem? If it can't be fixed, is it just going to go 'dark' one day and I won't be able to use this screen?

it could be hardware, connect an external monitor to your laptop and see if you get anything on at boot.
