Laptop very hot (literally)
Recently, I noticed my Averatec 6200 series laptop's fan running a lot.
I don't have a lot of programs open and I'm not using a lot of memory or CPU. Despite it, the fan runs at full capacity a lot. I can tell the laptop is hot because when I put my hand under it, it's pretty hot. My laptop is about 5 years old and I haven't upgraded/changed any hardware except for the DVD drive a year ago. Anyone know why this is and what I can do about it? Thank you in advance. |

Re: Laptop very hot (literally)
Hi,
Make sure all the vents/heatsink are free of dust and any obstruction. Get a can of air and shoot some thru the vents. Make sure you get most of the dust out. Best if you open the laptop up and clean the inside but this is not required and not advisable if you are not the tech savvy type.
