weird windows xp start up
hi i need your help guys.
well, my laptop's internal speakers were not working from a long time, i decided to see if i can fix them myself, so i took all the drives out and opened my laptop not completely just partialy from the front where i could see the speakers on both side, but wasn;t able to fix those , so i closed everything just the way it was. but from that point every time now i start windows, it starts like this ![]() . while loading windows it shows every thing in a tiny small screen but after that works perfectly without any problems. i think i pressed some button or something, anybody knows how to fix this. Also there is another thing i have noticed even with the AC power connected,it shows running on batteries (in windows power option tab)that never go below 95%. anybody knows why my windows is acting up??? thanks in adv Last edited by ministerjee : 07-08-2008 at 09:30 PM. |

Re: weird windows xp start up
may be CMOS was reset to default. Go into BIOS setup and look for the display settings. if you are unsure what to change, post a screen shot of your BIOS setup (for each tab in BIOS settings to be sure).
when you put the system back together and booted into XP, did you have to change the date and time?

Re: weird windows xp start up
if it showed you the correct time then the CMOS did not reset. have you checked display properties in Windows?
EDIT: also try pressing Fn + F7 keys when DELL logo appears. do this once and see if it keeps the configuration once you power OFF and power ON again.
