Acer Orbicam won't start

My Acer Aspire 5633WLMi has a built in Orbicam that used to work fine.

I have used a Belkin FireWire Notebook adaptor to download videos from my video camera and now when I select the Orbicam it tells me "The camera is in use by another application" and will not start. As far as I am aware there is no other camera connected or in use.

I have made sure I have followed the correct disconnect sequence for my video camera and the notebook adaptor, but still no joy.

The Hardware Settings for the camera in Control panel say there is no problem. I have disabled it then enabled it again, but still no joy.

Any suggestions anyone?

go to acers support website. download and install the patch for your orbicam software.

it has a problem where it won't run if there are high resolution pictures in yoru my pictures folder.
