LCD Screen fading on the left
i have begun to notice the left side of my screen fading and overall dimming of my screen on my acer 5100.
have also notice that if i tap the bottom of the surrounding bezel {center bottom} that it comes back. Question: is this just something lose or a lead-in to a bigger problem? thanks in advance. |

Re: LCD Screen fading on the left
it might be just a loose connection or a solder that has lifted up. it good if you can see for yourself the connections to be sure. if you tapped the bottom part of the LCD bezel, it could also mean the backlight or inverter. if you get one of these failing, you will get a dim screen.
i would go with the inverter as this is cheaper and easier to replace. but then again it may be the backlight which is very hard to replace or better yet, you might want to replace the whole of the LCD (backlight is part of LCD).
