acer 5200 about 6 months old. wont come on. lights turn on and fun, nothing else

My girlfriend just recently spilled something on my laptop. Just a couple of drops on the curser. The laptop instantly shut off. It would not turn back on. I let it sit for a few days with the battery and power supply disconnected and when i retried it. it turned on. Everything worked fine but the curser was jerky and would click on icons that it wasnt suppose to. Just yesterday she tried to use the laptop in the morning and it would no longer turn on. When you press the power button, i can hear the fan running. the lights turn on but the screen doesnt power up and i cant hear the harddrive run. I have not been able to get it running since. If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated

do you still have a warranty for it? if so, then I would call the number and ask them what can be achieved.
If not, then you may have to get it cleaned inside. Could get a shop to do it, or if you are capable to do it yourself. But if it is under warranty then it would be voided if done yourself, so I would call first.

dcraker is right. If it is still under warranty, do bring it in for repair or replacement. Fixing a spill victim would require opening the system up which voids warranty.
