Dell Inspiron 6400 DVD Burning Drive is LOUD

I was just wondering if anyone else with a Dell Inspiron had experienced crazy-loud noise when burning DVDs. My laptop is about one and a half years old, and it only started making this noise when I burn DVDs recently. I'm hoping it's not a sign of bad things to come?

Re: Dell Inspiron 6400 DVD Burning Drive is LOUD

My 9400 is very loud on occasion, doesn't matter if I'm burning or playing a disc. The only good thing is that it doesn't happen very often. I found that if I push the drive tray, there is a little play. If I hold it in, the noise is normal, but who wants to have to push on a drive to quiet it down. I already had an external which was faster, so I started using that all the time instead of the internal. Had I not been building a desktop, I'd of eventually replaced the drive.
