Replace Laptop Screen
Hi,
I have a Dell Inspiron 9300 laptop. Unfortunately (for me!) earlier today i dropped it and now have a crack of sorts in my screen. I say 'of sorts' cause it is a crack on the under-side of the screen, as when i put my fingers over the area, it is smooth and i cannot feel it from the outside. Is it possible to just replace the actual screen or do i have to replace the whole lid? Will a 9400 lid be ok on this? As i have seen one on a website which is cheaper than others. Also, will it 'hurt' the computer if i wait to replace this? I have links to a couple of pics i took of the screen, it doesnt look too bad right now. Im just worried about leaving it too long incase something happens and ill have to replace more than just that. The laptop is approx 4 years old now so is not currently under warranty, so i'd rather repair/replace the screen/lid myself. http://i27.tinypic.com/b64x7d.jpg http://i29.tinypic.com/9abt5s.jpg Thanks in advance for any help. |

Re: Replace Laptop Screen
yeah, you can just replace the LCD alone. i suggest you get hold of your laptop service manual so you will have a guide on how to do the removal and replacement.
