Toshiba power problems
I have a Satellite p15s420 notebook, with a p4 ht processor. The laptop charges when turned off however will not charge while windows is running.
I tried removing the battery and turning on the laptop however laptop will not turn on,it does for a millisecond until lcd lits up and then shuts off. I tried switching power packs with one that is the exact same output and hz and same result. I tested voltage to battery bay and it appears normal while off however am unable to test without battery while turned on. I am thinking the resolution may not be hardware related, I am wondering if it might be a control(bios issue or etc).. and the reasoning behind my theory is windows shows the laptop as being plugged in,but not charging and drains the battery while active. |

Re: Toshiba power problems
hi,
yup, i have read of some issues being resolved by BIOS update. have you checked Toshiba website on this? about the AC adapter, are you using the original one? any ideas of the power requirement of your laptop in watts? is the AC adapter giving out the exact wattage? i ask about the wattage because i have tried a 56W adapter on a 72W machine and it runs OK on Windows but my battery does not charge, in fact i ended up with a discharged battery.
