Dell Inspiron 5160 battery light flashes green & amber on charge

I recently fixed this laptop with a replacement motherboard & power supply ( this genuine Dell). All has been OK until today when runing on battery only the low power warning came up so swithched power supply on.

After a few moments I noticed the battery light instead of being constant green when on charge was alternating from green to amber constantly. Have shut the system down & am reluctant to power up until I know what these light mean.

HELP!
