wifi on laptops, why it never works?
Hello
Is it possible to get a working, stable wifi connection on a laptop? I have a laptop that has inbuilt wifi and both USB and Wifi cards stuck in it with everything installed yet it still suffers from a poor, unstable connection. This has been a problem for both me and my relatives/friends. I have never had this problem with any desktop PC. What is the solution?? Thanks for any reply, this is an annoying problem. |

how is your signal strength? in my experience, i get unstable connection if my signal strength is that bad or if i have wonky WiFi card.

Re: wifi on laptops, why it never works?
Thanks for the reply. The signal strength goes from being acceptable to nothing. Possibly laptops are just not great when it comes to wifi? I would really like to get this problem fixed.

Re: wifi on laptops, why it never works?
I disagree, my laptop has brilliant WiFi capabilities, I can connect from my kitchen which is a floor down, and about 3 rooms away. It might be your router and/location.

Re: wifi on laptops, why it never works?
I am having a similar problem. My wifi connects about every 2 days after being off. I have a Dell Latitude D600 with Pentium M and the dell truemobile 1400 minipc adapter driver keeps disappearing. I reinstall it everyday and then it still does not take. My daughter has a Tobisha and she is always connected. I have triedeverything. The driver is not digitally signed, does that have anything to do with it?

Re: wifi on laptops, why it never works?
The wifi in my HPdv9000 is great. My dad's dell would flutter at 50 feet, my mom's wireless desktop card didn't even work even with 2 different cards at 40 feet, i'm off in my room at 80 foot with 2 bars but holding and working.

Re: wifi on laptops, why it never works?
have you tried connecting on other networks like in a free wifi hotspot zone (i.e Starbucks, etc.)?
