Wireless Adapter, Can't be found... please help A.S.A.P.
Ok, so I just recently reinstalled windows xp on a Toshiba Satelite Sa-1063, which is it's origional O.S. Now the Wireless network adapter isn't being found and I keep getting this Message from intel telling me "Adapter Problem, driver not installed." But I can not locate the correct driver for this adapter, I have installed probably 100 of them from the Toshiba Support site. None of them solved the problem. And it's not even llisted in the Device manager. I have had this problem with it once before but I had a friend of mine fix it, I don't know how he did it and he's our of reach to me right now. And that's why I'm here. So if anyone hase any suggestions I'm open, and I would really appreciate it.
Thank's in advanced. David |

That's part of the problem... I don't know. And I don't exactly know how to find that out since it's not listed on my pc. . . Anywhere internal or external. . . Toshiba didn't even mention, at least not that I could find.

Re: Wireless Adapter, Can't be found... please help A.S.A.P.
No, but wouldn't it be listed in the Device manager just with a yellow question mark if it was installed. I'm assuming it isn't installed, since it wasn't the origional xp instalation disk that comes with most pc's. I bought the software from a retailer. But I don't know how I would go about installing it with out knowing what kind it is, or a disk.

i mean you do not see it in Device Manager (even with yellow marks), right? but have you checked in your laptop if you have the card attached?

Re: Wireless Adapter, Can't be found... please help A.S.A.P.
OK so you know you have one but the messages you see tell you that you do not have one. the best way to settle this is for you to check in the laptop if you really have one, because if you do you may need to reseat or replace it as it is not recognized.
the best way to do this is to use your model's service manual so you can locate the wifi card and have the instructions on how to remove/replace it. EDIT: AFAIK, WiFi cards ARE not built-in the motherboard. - they can be replaced/removed. but best if you ask Toshiba (i still can't find the model of laptop in their support website SA-1063 does not seem to exist).

Re: Wireless Adapter, Can't be found... please help A.S.A.P.
OK, removeing the adapter and reinstalling the drivers ect.... still shows up the same error message on startup. "Driver not installed" in that stupid little bubble window... Idk... I have been trying everything for the last few weeks to get this resolved.... I'm about to just give up and admit defeat on this one...but if you got anymore ideas feel free to shoot them to me, or even Email them to me.
