[SOLVED] cannot get a dvd to eject.
i have a toshiba satellite a205-s5825 (laptop) and i cannot get the dvd to eject. even worse, the dvd is inside the computer and is not even recognized by the computer. ive pushed the eject button and the yellow led keeps blinking on and off. i go to "my computer" the dvd does not even show up...
help me plz!!! |

i am guessing but it seems it is a dying drive. have it tested or consider replacement.
you can try deleting upper/lower filters (or use CDGONE, google for download page) if it helps to recognize the drive and perhaps eject the tray. if you want to remove the DVD media or open the drive tray, use a pin or a paperclip small enough to go thru the hole on the drive door. gently push the paperclip straight thru the hole until you feel it depress a release mechanism. if done correctly, the tray will pop out a bit. from there you can pull it out to the open/eject position.

really!?!? a dying drive... i hope not. the computer is only 2 weeks old :(
im not questioning you at all, im just stating my displeasement with the machine... thank you for the help :) i will post as soon as i figure out where i can find a paper clip! |
