Screen not Working at all.
Hi
Was wondering if someone could advise on my problem. Have a HP Pavillion Dv 6250 (think thats correct) Whilst loading it normally the and usually hibernating it. The Screen just stop working - it has gone completely blank there is not even dim back light. I have tried to load it up with an external monitor but could see no screen. The Laptop was loading up and was actually signing me into MSN, but no screen. Also now there is a strange beebing sound as it loads up (developed a couple of restarts later.) It sounds like a bios or windows error , although I am a novice and cannot be sure. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Screen not Working at all.
hi,
read this first and check if your model is included: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...87277_identify did this hibernate/sleep? if it did, read the HP document above. if it was in operation when the screen died? try to power it off and on again, if you still do not get any screen on LCD and external monitor, it could mean your video card.

Re: Screen not Working at all.
Typical on HP/Compaqs for the displays to go out. For these laptops the typical issue is the inverter board that takes the DC power and converts it to AC to power the fluorescent tube that provides the backlight.
If you were to hook up an external monitor and toggle your function key to activate it does that external monitor work? If it does then more than likely it's a display screen issue such as the inverter, tube, LCD screen in that order. If both the laptop display and external monitor fail it could be either one of two things, 1) the Graphics driver on your laptop or 2) the GPU on your mobo. If it's the GPU, consider that mobo fried unless it's removable like some Toshiba's.
