Re: comapq armada
Hi,
Can you give us the exact model of this laptop 1750 ********* what? As you can see on this link there are 33 various models: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...222&taskId=135 Compaq does list windows 2000 drivers so I would think win2000 is compatible. The next question would be if you have enough RAM to run win2000. 64MB ram is Microsoft requirement, but I recommend 128 MB ram. Bill

Re: comapq armada
Here are the minimum requirements for XP:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314865 These are from microsoft. I usually double MS requirements for better performance. Although your Armada 1750 has the minimum requirements, (IMO) I would not install it. I am unsure If XP will find all the drivers you may need (No XP Driver support from Compaq), but it may. The second thought, this unit would run at a snails pace if XP were installed, even with 128MB Ram. Another thought is the size of your HD, You would need atleast a 10GB HD. Anything smaller than this will not leave you alot of room for saving anything or installing additional programs. XP once fully loaded with all the updates will use up about 3-4 GB of HD space. This link will give you some additional info: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...SeriesId=96222 I think W2k would be your better option as far as performance. Bill
