NEED HELP Transferring!
I need to transfer the data from my old laptop HDD to my new HDD.
I have an external USB 700GB backup. I have tried to burn an image of my old HDD onto the external, then copying it to a new partition on the new HDD, but I can't boot from it! I either get "disk read error" or sometimes "missing Hal.dll file" (which isn't missing, i've checked) have any of you ever done this before? If so, HOW?? Please help, I wasted my whole weekend transfering, partitioning, and formatting and i have nothing to show for it >_< cheers External Is Samsung 700GB Internal (old) Fujitsu 80GB Internal (new) Western digital 250GB Laptop is a 7525 7500MX Series |

Re: NEED HELP Transferring!
hi,
i know only one that worked but not freeware. http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-11379_7-6445033-1.html i tried using the free programs but my attempts were not successful as i cannot boot from the clone drive (new higher capacity HDD). if you have not tried it yet, check this page http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.c...eid=418&page=1
