Virus?
My laptop appears to have a virus, although im not sure on this.
My ex had limewire stored in his settings on the Advent laptop that we had, and this im sure will be the cause. The problems with it are that it doesnt recognise the usb port, or the cd drive. It also wont let me log into any websites where I have a username and password stored. It also wont let me into all of the folders in the my computer file. I presume I will have to wipe it and re-install windows again? Thanks |

Re: Virus?
hi,
in some cases a fresh install is the answer. if you have nothing to lose in the process (important files have been saved), it is best if you wipe it clean and do a fresh install. it is way better than trying to fix each and every problem that might be caused by a suspected virus.

Re: Virus?
Ye, trying to clean system from viruses could be hard work but experienced too... But, it is way to better to do a clean install if you do not have any important data on HDD [you can always back up data though]...
And your PC will act as a totally new one with fresh install :) I personally would try to clean it because you can always learn something and you can not make any damage to hardware, you can only make damage to software but there comes reinstall again hehe...
