I bought this notebook a week ago, today i installed windows vista ultimate and after installing its drivers (correctly) from:

i noticed that i had some problems with the wireless device, it says that it cant be initialized because of an error (code 10)..this is the screen capture of the problem:



do you guys know what happened with my notebook because i cant configure my WLAN =(

Note: The led of the wireless device is orange (even if a push on it)

i checked the page you linked and saw two drivers there. what WiFi card are you using (Intel or Broadcom)? and which of the drivers did you install?

just wondering... did you install Atheros drivers? are you using Atheros WiFi card? if you have not installed any WiFi drivers, try this: http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/NET...125-whql.shtml

Hello TriggerFinger....At the first time, i installed the Intel one, but when i realized that it didint work, i tried the other :S

uninstall the WiFi driver you have now and let Vista find the drivers for your card. you must be wired to the internet so Windows can look for the drivers for you. if this does not work, try the Broadcom driver (because you have tried the intel driver).

again the page you linked only has 2 drivers there. i am pretty sure it is one or the other (if you have not replaced the WiFi card yet).

Updating the thread: Today i chatted with a HP Technician he said me alot of thing to do, i did make all of them and nothing happened. The last shot i made was installling Xp, after that i installed the respective drivers and have the same problem.

I dont know wether my wireless device is wrong or i dont know what had happened, the weird thing is that the problem started when i made a new installation of windows vista.

I searched for some information about this problem on saint google and found like 2 o 3 boys that had the same problem after re-installing vista

did you use the recovery CD or the recovery partition?

try uninstall the WiFi drivers and try reseating the WiFi card in its socket. since you are reseating the card, take note of the brand and model of your WiFi card (base your driver from this). after this try to install the chipset driver and the WiFi driver.
