How do you access PRESARIO_RP

I really need to know how to access the D drive, PRESARIO_RP on a compaq presario v5306us laptop. I had a virus and had to format C and load windows 2000 on it. When I go into PRESARIO_RP , There is a folder called Recovery, but I cannot open it.
Any suggestions?
I also tried pushing F10 but that brings my to the bios options menu.

if F10 does not work, try F11 when the Compaq logo appears.

Re: How do you access PRESARIO_RP

I have tried that too. Do I need the HP Recovery software installed on my computer?

Re: How do you access PRESARIO_RP

if F11 does not work, you may not have a recovery partition.

are you using the harddrive that came with the laptop? if so, could you recall if harddrive was formatted before? if somehow, the recovery partition was deleted then you may need to order a recovery CD from HP/Compaq.

the recovery CD will install your operating system back to factory defaults (yes, including all the trial and other software that came with it).

Re: How do you access PRESARIO_RP

Thank you. That was my last resort. I know I have a recovery partition. But I cannot access it. It is about 6gb in size but I have found no way to open it.
