Hi
I have a Toshiba P33 3.6gHz laptop with a strange issue. The unit will not power on with the plug pack in. Works OK on the battery though. If I plug the power pack into the machine with the machine off, the battery will charge but at a longer rate of time. With a full battery, the machine will run fine. I am stummped as to what is going on. Can anyone offer assistance?

Re: Toshiba P33 Power issue
hi.
looks like the AC adapter is not giving out the correct power to charge the battery and boot the laptop simultaneously. check the AC adapter output if it is giving out the correct voltages. this can happen if the AC adapter is NOT the genuine adapter that came with the laptop. it can also be genuine but a malfunctioning adapter. either way, try replacing with a known working genuine adapter (borrow from a friend) for testing purposes.
