Acer Travelmate 4202wlmi keyboard problems

Hi everyone. I've got an old Acer Travelmate laptop and I've got a problem with the keyboard. The characters that I type out differs from what is displayed onscreen. This problem used to occur on Internet Explorer but now it is a problem with all applications. Any suggestions as to how to resolve this would be most welcome. Thanks.

hi,

check you keyboard (US keyboard, French, etc...). then set your Language/keyboard settings in Control Panel to correspond to your actual keyboard.

if it is not a language feature issue, it could be your keyboard. try an external keyboard if it has the same problems. if the external keyboard behaves well (no problems), consider replacing your laptop keyboard.
