I have a Toshiba P205-S8811 laptop. Yesterday Vista installed a bunch of updates, including one for the Synaptics Touchpad driver. Afterwords was unable to load or even find the Synaptics Touchpad control panel. I uninstalled the Touchpad driver, planning on doing a reinstall, but when I tried to reboot the computer, the keypad doesn't work properly and I can't enter my password. Also the computer emits a loud repeating beeping sound during the boot process. I have tried to do a system restore using the Toshiba recovery disk, but the restore fails. Help!

Re: computer won't boot
repeating beeps may be caused by a stuck key. have you checked your keyboard? did this happen just now after uninstall of Touchpad drivers?
try tapping each key a few times and see if the beeping stops. also if you have opened it up, reseat the keyboard cable connectors.
