Re: modem problem

Try swapping back to the original RAM and see if the modem works as it should. Then we will work on the RAM problem.

Re: modem problem

you said you can dial a connection but cuts out after userid/password. given that, i feel it is not the modem. try dialing other ISP connections, there could be some problems with your ISP. but again we are just guessing here. to really know if it is your modem, replace it with a new one or at least with a known working one. if dialing to your ISP gives you the same symptom, try another connection.

try these first; on the other hand if you feel there is something wrong other than the modem, best if you can bring it in for repair.

yup that's one way to do it perhaps userid/password of kind friend who would let you use it for testing purposes. or you can try another dial up internet service provider.

the thing is, your modem dials out in fact as per your previous post you reach the userid/password verification part. for me (and i may be wrong) the modem works as designed.

if you want to narrow down the causes, start with the above or at least try replacing the modem of new one or a known working one.
