added memory and thinkpad t23 now dead
I recently added 512M of ram to my laptop, an Ibm Thinkpad T23. I removed the 2 128M pieces and added the 2 256M pieces. Tried to turn laptop back on and nothing. Does absolutely nothing. I plugged in ac power and still nothing. No light on the right side that indicates battery charging, and just is totally dead. Put old memory back in - same result. So I cannot get laptop to start at all now. What do I do? Thanmks for your help.

Re: added memory and thinkpad t23 now dead
hi,
try to remove battery and AC adapter. press power ON key for 15 to 30 secs. attach battery and AC adapter. power ON as normal. if that does not work, check output of AC adapter. also check battery if it has charge.

Re: added memory and thinkpad t23 now dead
have 2 ac adapters - both ok, and battery has a charge. any other ideas? or is it possible that the memory blew the main board or the internal power supply? Any other things to test for a seemingly dead pc? What is puzzling is that there is no light on the right when it is plugged in to ac - that light is always on when its plugged in regardless of the laptop actually being turned on.
Thanks for all of your help, Dave |
