Problems With Presario V5000
Hello everyone. I have a Compaq Presario V5000 and the lcd on it is having problems. All the lcd does is display three vertical lines on the left side of the screen. I took it apart and moved a chip one the lcd and it worked. Does this sound like a bad ribbon cable or a bad chip? Also when i was moving things around on the lcd, the inverter got shorted out on something i think, i smelled something burning, and now obviously the backlight doesnt work, but i wanted to know if there was a way to tell if shorting out the inverter hurt the motherboard before i buy new parts for it. Please help!

Re: Problems With Presario V5000
Well I have an old lcd I hooked it up to and i got a picture, I had to use a flashlight to see it. That makes me think the videocard is ok. But before I buy a new lcd for it, i would like to make sure a new inverter will work, do you know where i can find parts at a decent price?
