Dell Inspiron WinXP DVD "jumpy"
I have Dell Inspiron 6400, with Windows XP. When I play a DVD when the computer is unplugged, the movie image is jerky/jumpy. The sound is OK, but the picture is jerky. This is true when using Windows Media Player, and worse when using the Dell Media Center player. Any advice?

Re: Dell Inspiron WinXP DVD "jumpy"
It only happens when I am on battery, but even when I am starting a movie on a fully charged battery and have no other programs running. Is there any way to change system power usage to better play movie?

Re: Dell Inspiron WinXP DVD "jumpy"
check your current Power Schemes and set it to High System Performance if it improves anything.
btw, is there no AC adapter to use? my guess is that your battery is a few years old. try a brand new (genuine/not generic), fully charged battery.
