Another instance of sound coming through both phones and laptop speakers
I've read the previous versions of this problem and the solutions of either returning the laptop to the manufacturer or downloading an upgrade to the sound card or having a faulty jack connection or possibly a faulty jack socket however........mine laptop is a Samsung Q35 (and very nice it is too!) using a soundmax audio card. I think perhaps something has happened that no longer tells the laptop to no longer mute the speakers when it detects headphones (or at least a jack being inserted in the phones socket). I've looked all over the properties of the soundcard and the general audio setting from the control panel. Can't see anything obvious thats become unchecked or vice versa. Its got to be something simple but it alluding me......any suggestions? I'm using XP SP2.

hi pb125770,
have you tried another headset? if so, try pushing the jack all the way in.
